In December 2019 the LHERA received from ECF via the BBW CVS, and spent, half the Winter Warmth 2019/20 Grant totalling £500.00. This enabled us to dispense throws, socks, soup, biscuits and a twix to the thirty residents. Then during Lockdown a further thirty residents were identified on our Winter Warmth list, permission was granted to alter how we had anticipated the remainder of the grant to be spent, to allow us to deliver identical supplies to this second group of residents at the end of September and throughout October.

This grant enabled the LHERA to identify residents under the criteria of over 70, chronically ill, respiratory problems, taken ill during Lockdown or bereaved. Many of these residents were isolated either because their family lived out of the district or lived alone.

A Chrismas bag was delivered to each resident. All residents were most appreciative.
