The LHERA plan for the Duvet Project was to deliver duvets to residents who were more vulnerable due to the escalated cost of the estates uncapped District Heating unit price, increased by 201%, and the cost of living crisis affecting everybody.
By delivering extra warmth to residents in the form of duvets we avoided extra utility charges had we looked at electric blankets, ‘money’ would not have been comparable to the utility grants issued during the pandemic due to the rising price, and delivering more food hampers at that time, the rising prices meant we would be unable to supply adequately sized hampers to feed a family for several days.
